Wow, what an amazing difference. I had adopted a one year old Aki-poo named Nylah who was literally out of control. I was actually worried she could not be trained. However our training session with Ben was very successful and Nylah reacted very well. We also received some really great nutritional advice and training trips. Absolute Magic!!! We brought home 11 month old Einstein (an American Bulldog mix) from the shelter almost 2 weeks ago and while it started off fine, it quickly turned in to him being suddenly afraid of our oldest daughter, as well as our vacuum and lawn mower (the latter two resulting in him biting me pretty dang hard). He was growling and lunging at our oldest and we knew if we couldn't get this fixed we would have no choice but to bring him back, which would break our hearts. In exactly one session with Ben, we had a changed dog on our hands. In a matter of 3 hours, we were not afraid of this dog anymore and we had the tools to make sure Einstein knew he had nothing to be afraid of either. I wouldn't have believed it was possible if I hadn't seen it myself. Even just the very next morning, we didn't have to do anything to stop Einstein from being cool as a cucumber when our oldest came upstairs to go to school. He even snuggled with her, which is mind blowing. In the other photo you can see him being completely chill while I rode my Peloton (which previously would result in him biting at my feet), AND while our other dog Bagel walked around the house. Usually those two play pretty hard and it's innocent, but Bagel is older and needs more rest breaks and usually Einstein does not like to comply. But here he is...leaving us both alone while we do our thing. This was life changing for us, and quite possibly saved Einstein's life, as who knows what would've happened if we had to take him back to county animal control. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so grateful to know that we have lifetime support for our sweet pup from a truly wonderful team!

Living in Severna Park we had many options for dog trainers, but we are so thankful we chose Ben. After bringing home our fur baby to meet our new human baby, things did not go well. Amazing experience! In addition to Ben being an overall nice guy that my dog and I felt very comfortable with, the method really works! Ben was truly amazing. I have three young very hyper labs, and within about 15 minutes of working with each dog there was an unbelievable difference in their demeanor and behavior. This positive change has remained consistent even through the times of the day that were historically the most challenging (ie feeding time). If I could rate Ben more than 5 stars, I would. My situation: I have an 11-month-old black lab mix. We've had Macy for 2 weeks; she is a rescue and has moved from foster family to foster family in her short life. She is hyper, jumps, nips and bites. Basically, the average puppy behavior just ramped up. Ben arrived at our home around 4PM, sat down with my wife, my daughter and I and started the training. He trained us for the first hour, his background with the program, experiences and its ideology. I'm going to be honest, I thought he was full of it. Within 10 minutes of introducing Ben to Macy, I was a believer. She was calm, docile and ready to listen. I was amazed. I've never seen an untrained dog react this way. Over the course of the 3-hour session, Ben taught my family how to interact with our dog and get the behavior that every dog owner wants. My Macy is now sweet, loving and more importantly, RELAXED! I can't recommend Ben enough. His methods work. The program works. Thank you, Ben, I will be recommending you to any dog owner I know and meet in the future.

My experience with Ben was life changing. I watched my dog, and I have had many in my life, change right before my eyes. He is a 90lb male pit bull mix, who was a bit fearful and pushed to dominate. He loves people but would jump on them including myself and it was extremely stressful. Ben corrected this behavior within the first 30minutes of our time together with absolutely no physical force whatsoever! My dog went from fearful and unsure to calm and respectful; fear left him. Even his abandonment anxiety was relieved. I am so excited to continue the ability to speak dog language, and continue what Ben has shown me to build a wonderful relationship with my dog. Long story short: Ben has worked miracles for our family and really helped our dog grow more comfortable with her place in our "pack," especially after a chaotic introduction to having a newborn at home. Now, baby + pup can play together and mom + dad have confidence and trust in their behavior! The whole story (for anyone who's curious or debating hiring Bark Busters for your family - do it!): From the very first questionnaire I filled out online, I felt like this style of dog training would be the right solution for our family. I felt like our dog was good, not great - she doesn't beg, listens to a few commands, but barks like crazy and doesn't get along well with other dogs around. And at eight months pregnant with our first baby on the way, we knew it was smart to have a dog trainer start helping us. Our first session went beautifully and the tools Ben set us up with seemed to really work. Right away, we noticed a difference and we were able to work with our dog on several key target behaviors. She even grew more comfortable with strangers (a contractor at the time) coming into the house. When we brought our newborn baby home for the first time, it was extremely chaotic. Despite our early training and giving her baby stuff to smell, it was clear that our dog was NOT ready and not feeling friendly. We couldn't have them in the same room together without the dog being overly excited and on edge, and she barked at every baby cry. We called Ben from a place of desperation and he calmly talked us through each step of the way. We followed his direction and training plan for several weeks and made huge progress. By 2-3 months old, I am so happy/proud/relieved to say that both baby and pup are now friends. They can be in the same room, on the same couch, pup can approach and gently lick baby's face, and then walk away. This is so huge for our family, and we are extremely grateful. We have so much peace and confidence knowing that down the road, should we ever need a training refresher or need advice, we have Ben to call.
We are AMAZED! The change in my dog was instant. We are so grateful for Ben’s instruction. I could tell Ben was just as big of a dog lover as me, and he went out of his way to help me and my dog, Kobe. He taught me how to “speak dog,” how to communicate with Kobe in a way he instantly understands. The lesson was mostly teaching me, as Kobe got it right away! Ben Miller is a patient young man. Our corgzilla is (WAS!!) a biter, barker, jumper and all around terrible fur kid—until my husband Tom found Bark Busters. Captain Kitsune (the corgzilla) had an amazing epiphany while Ben worked with us (10 minutes to train the dog—3 hours to train the humans ...) but the transformation is incredible. Captain Kitsune is now a beta male and drinks soy lattes so he can continue sharing a home with me. He has not once tried to dominate, bite, bark incessantly or rush past me to get outside. I cannot thank Ben and the Bark Busters for saving my sanity and this dog’s life. Tom is also very happy because he can keep his furry buddy and doesn’t have to listen to my kvetching about the dog anymore. I recommend this family of trainers to anyone.

I had an amazingly informative session with Ben Miller! I was super surprised that my dogs were taking to the training so quickly. Ben was extremely personable, explained things very clearly, demonstrated things as many times as I needed them and even gave me tips on things that were not involved in actual training. It is very apparent that this company adores animals and knows what they are doing. We are so thankful for Bark Busters Mid MD! When we first called Bark Busters, we were at the end of our rope with our Bluetick Coonhound rescue. He had a lot of things to work on. Ben did a great job educating our family on how to communicate better with our dog Cinnamon. He walked us through the steps with Cinnamon and we were amazed at how responsive Cinnamon was. We continue to practice and Cinnamon is doing well with the training. Our dog who would normally run to the window/ door to bark at people or other dogs walking in front of our home stayed quiet, stayed at the top of the stairs without running to the door while watching 3 dogs being walked after utilizing Ben’s strategy this morning.

We recently had my daughter's dog move back in with us after he was a little aggressive with her landlord. He had lived with us before for months and was getting increasing aggressive with dogs, bikes, and sometimes people. We don't have a fenced yard and walk him several times a day. We have had our dog for several years, and while he's generally a pretty good boy, he still has some habits (jumping up on people when they walk in the door, posturing defensively when he meets other dogs, not listening to us when he's in unfamiliar situations) that we were hoping to iron out before some big life changes that are headed our way. Kelly was an absolute pleasure. I cannot believe how effective the tips were and how receptive our dog, Lola, was to all of it! She was literally a different dog by the time Kelly left the first session. All of the information she provided made so much sense and she was patient in answering all of our questions. Unlike other trainers, she had us doing things in real-time and in real environments so she could see Lola’s behavior and it worked out amazingly. I had my first training session with Ben Thursday and it was amazing. My dog is very apprehensive with new people in the home and it gives him great anxiety. Ben was able to come and assess my dog physically and psychologically. To watch my dog warm up to him in a short time was amazing. We discussed personality traits of my dog that allow me to have a better understanding of his anxiety we experiences. As well as understanding dog language when given commands. I would definitely be continuing this training and look further to future trainings with him and my doggy.

I have an 8-month Lab/Pitbull/Presa Canario mix dog that was having various behavioral issues. I was looking for a professional trainer that has experience working with aggressive dogs and would ensure long-term support. My dog, Tarzan, needed help with his reactiveness towards strangers and kids, leash walking/pulling, jumping on people, and excessive barking. I loved how Kelly was very organized and thorough when explaining how dogs act and think. This allowed us to view a different perspective of Tarzan and showed us why the Bark Busters method is effective. On our very first session, I couldn’t believe how well-behaved Tarzan could be. With the proper exercises Kelly showed us, Tarzan was barely pulling on his leash on walks, barking and/or jumping on other people, and he did not lunge or bark at other strangers, I was truly amazed. I definitely recommend Bark Busters for any issue, I truly believe they are the best.

When my husband and I were looking for a training program for our mini-cockapoo puppy, Hugo, we wanted to ensure long-term support. We have had several friends get training in classes for their dogs, or boot camp, however...after a few weeks, the impact may minimize. The support from Bark Busters over a life-time was a great match for what we were looking for. Our first session, Ben spent about 4 hours with us! He was incredibly thorough, and relatable in regard to learning some of the training techniques. Being a first time dog owner, he also was patient! It has been about 6 weeks, and Ben just returned for a second session this past week. He helped review some of the techniques, and give some very helpful feedback. The strategies he has shared has helped lessen Hugo's anxiety, and in turn, we have seen less agressive chewing, jumping, and running around before bedtime. Our leash walking has also gotten better. He is assured that we, my husband and I, are the leaders in the household. We appreciate Ben's consistent, patient, and thorough support. I know we'll see him again in a few weeks for another check-in as we continue to get to know our now 6 month old Hugo :) Definitely recommend for those that want a lifetime of support that does not rely on treats, etc.
We reached out to Bark Busters, as we were really out of options to address our dog's behavior issues. Our dog Weber was 9 months old then, he was chewing on door frames, furniture, his resource guarding issues were escalating and he was very unpleasant to walk as he was pulling on the leash excessively, among other things. Our Bark Busters trainer, Ben, came to our house and spent over 4 hours on our fist visit to show us the training method and explain how the Bark Busters system works. His explanations were clear, he was transparent with us on all fronts and gave us great recommendations for our dog that have so far proven very efficient. We saw improvements in Weber's behavior right from the first day, and since then we have reached milestones with Weber that we never thought possible, such as his excessive chewing which is now pretty much solve 100%, and we have been able to regain our leadership over our dog, which is central to the more peaceful and pleasant relationship we have with Weber since we started working with Ben. We still have a few more issues to deal with, but the beauty of the Bark Busters system is that we have the support of our trainer for the lifespan of our dog, so we feel confident that we will be able to address these quickly with the help of our trainer!
I have a golden doodle that has some fear based aggression issues. I was really beginning to feel trapped by the dog because I can’t have people come into my home without locking him away, can’t walk him without him lunging and getting overly excited by other dogs etc. One 3 hour session with Ben last night and Barnabas woke up today a better dog. The change we saw in him with the techniques Ben taught us were almost immediate. I know we have lots of work to do to keep Barnabas on track and get him to be the dog we always wanted but it will be worth it. Today Barnabas woke up on a different path and so did I. I finally feel like it’s going to be possible to have people in my home or walk my dog without fear. I am looking forward to showing Ben our progress in the upcoming weeks and learning more from him as time goes on. If you have an aggressive dog are feeling trapped and at the end of your rope give Ben a call. It will be worth it.
Ben came out to help me and my fiancé navigate how to introduce a new puppy to our timid/defensive dog. After thorough observation, Ben was able to set us up with training tools that allowed us to keep peace between the dogs and create a consistently calm environment for everyone. We were able to have all of our questions answered with honest and professional responses. Kelly was on time and friendly. She took her time to explain Sweet Pea's behavior and then she took her time to teach me how to speak "dog". When the lesson was over, I was able to ask questions without getting a hurried response. Sweet Pea is a calmer more obedient dog thanks to Kelly.
Ben and Kelly visited on our home Feb 5th. It was the first lesson that our 9 month old Frenchie ever had. They were so knowledgeable and included our whole family! Within 30 minutes, we had already learned so much and had a completely different pet. Their knowledge and guidance has made a huge difference for us. Can't recommend Bark Busters enough. So professional and really amazing. Kelly turned my Thor's attitude around and made her so friendly. She was not very fun on walks and was not friendly. Now she has a much better attitude I love taking her out and she is much better socially. If you need a trainer look no further.

I cannot say enough about Ben! He came to my house when i was at the end of my rope with my 2 pups. They were barking and fighting and just not getting along anymore - after 3 years together! Ben asked great questions to get to the root of our issues & he put control back into my hands with easy simple methods, I know I have to practice daily to make it stick for some time, but i am soooo relieved! Very capable trainer. Clearly works well with dogs. Has great insight on my dog. She was kind toward me - teaching me how to better handle my dog to meet my expectations.
They are wonderful! We noticed major improvements after (in!) our first session. It’s so helpful to have her come to us, where she can observe our puppy in her environment and with our other dog. She took time to get to know us and both of our dogs (not just the one who needs training), taught us dozens of helpful tools, and gave many tips to help us start thinking from the canine mindset. She is highly responsive when we have quick questions and has made herself available for consultation in whatever way is most convenient for us. We have never hired a trainer before, and have instead trained our dogs by doing our own research. Our new puppy challenged us in ways that our typical methods did not correct, and now I cannot overstate how critical professional training is to a healthy pup and home. We look forward to continuing to work with her as our puppy grows.
I got my adorable malti-poo last week and wanted him to be trained. (First time dog owner) I did my research and I loved her approach. First of all she has the best personality and you can tell she loves her job. She is patient and makes sure you are comfortable with what you are doing and understand the reason why it will work. She even provided a workbook to remind you on what to do. A TRUE DOG WHISPERER!!!!! She doesn’t use treats or clickers, just old fashion love and respect. My dog loves and respects me not afraid (even though he is ruling the house with his cuteness) I had one session and I see a big change in my dog already!!!! Side note: I recommend you get the lifetime training for the different stages of your dog’s life. BEST MONEY I ever spent.
Sharon is super nice and effective. My dog Kristy responded very well to Sharon’s training each time we’ve had Sharon come to our home to help us with a host issues as Kristy’s behaviors evolved. Housebreaking, mouthing, jumping, barking, stealing, pulling and attention demanding.
I absolutely Love, Love, Love Sharon! She has been working with our two 19 month Rottweiler since they were 3 months old. My boyfriend and I chose the lifetime plan which was very reasonably priced for two pups. Sharon is very accommodating to our schedule and always shows up on time and explains in detail how we’re going to work through the problem at hand. Also before she leaves each session she leaves a breakdown on what you worked on that day and how to continue training until your next session. As much as I wish I could say that once you train a dog it’s done, Wrong! Dogs behaviors change as they get older... they go from a baby, to a toddler, to a big kid, teenager, before they hit adulthood. I love the fact that all I have to do is send Sharon a text, letting her know the problem or issues we’re having and she will schedule a time that works for us to help us work it through. She will also give you a call, text or even FaceTime for some quick tips to help before your session. This has truly been one of the best experiences that I’ve ever had with a dog trainer for any of my 12 rotties my family and I have had over the last 23 years!
This was our first time using professional help and Sharon did an excellent job in helping us to understand dog behaviors while also showing solutions on how to make corrections. Sharon gave us her full attention and explained things in an “easy to understand” method. Sharon took her time to make sure we were not nervous after she left. Sharon is great! She coached the entire family about how to understand our dog Camille. Camille loves her and took to her immediately! Camille really tries to please Sharon and will be obedient even with all kinds of distractions. Sharon is also very patient teaching us / humans, which turns out to be very important. She even got Camille to calm down around our neighbors. Sharon is very flexible and reliable. She has helped us with Camille in many different venues and settings. I highly recommend her! Sharon is great! She showed me what I was doing wrong & how to stop Sydney from jumping up on new people to say "hello". We practiced at home, then in public in different places to include pet stores. I could not have gotten my dog to listen & be more calm greeting new people if not for Sharon. Sydney gets to meet more people now that she knows how to greet them without jumping. It has been so rewarding for Sydney. She loves the attention she gets now that she's not barking and acting wild! I don't have to choose between being embarrassed by her (old) behavior & letting her meet people & other dogs. We go more places together, have more fun & less stress. I'd recommend Sharon her for ANY dog issue.
Sharon is a fabulous trainer. She has given us tons of options for training our dog Harper and we've seen a lot of improvement only 3 sessions in (we even saw improvement after 1). We are so thankful we purchased an unlimited plan with Sharon because it's really invaluable to be able to have her come out and correct our errors. My shoulders are thanking me too. Sharon is nothing short of amazing. She has assisted me with my dog, Paris since he was about 6 months old. We originally contacted bark busters for separation anxiety but Sharon tackled so many problems that surrounded the issue at large. When I tell you this woman is awesome - believe me! She does free, follow up visits with your dog...why?...because circumstances and your life with your dog evolves and most importantly- she cares! Four years later I became pregnant, moved to a new home and Paris developed some nasty behaviors such as peeing in the house, snapping at house guests and constant barking. And with a simple text request, Sharon was back,in my new home, to help me through another journey with my pup free of charge as a life-long client. Sharon is an outstanding trainer! She's assisted me with so many training techniques for my grand dog. She showed me how to decrease his anxiety about being left alone as well as anxiety about meeting strangers in our home and in public places. We hired Sharon when Winston was a puppy and she did a wonderful job teaching us "dog language". We used her techniques throughout the year. She worked with our schedule to make it convenient when she came to our house to train. But the awesome part was that when our training was over and I called her 6-months later for advice, she met me and helped me with our current issue with Winston. She was so willing to help and I am grateful. She is very dedicated to what she does and I would recommend her to anyone!!
Sharon was great! Her insight and tips were easy for me to practice and incorporate into our routines, and seemed easy for Gus to pick up. His barking has definitely calmed down, and with me learning how to behave like the lead dog, he seems much more relaxed in general. I would definitely recommend Sharon to others; she was patient, took the time to explain the logic behind the BarkBusters technique, and worked with me to run through the drills and behavior changes that will be helpful for Gus. We rescued an adult very large male black German Shepherd..it turns out he barks & lunges at strangers either on his leash or in the house. We had a family reunion coming up and I needed a few tools in my tool box. I have trained dogs & horses my whole life but my dogs were all brought up from puppies and I have never had to rehabilitate one with difficult behavior. I was very apprehensive about having him in the house with my large family. I had her come out just one day before our reunion started and she was amazing! She was very gentle and kind. Her body language with Neiko was perfect. He did not feel threatened. She gave us exactly what we needed for safe, stress free introductions. I felt relaxed and able to enjoy my family time. It turned out he was able to mingle with the family for short periods of time. This would not have happened without her help. Dog whisperers!
I didn't know what to do to get my rescued dog to get along with my cat and parents dog. Her aggression was out of hand with fighting and i was afraid there would be blood shed. My vet recommended Sharon and Bark Busters and she rescued all of us. 4 yrs later i continue to use BB techniques for Bella and will certainly use BB for any future dogs i rescue. The money spent is a lifetime investment, just like college for kids.

There are no words that could express how grateful we are for Sharon! We recently adopted a 2yr old Standard Poodle, Bella. She's a rescue who spent the first 2 yrs of her life being breed as a show dog. She had never been in a house so she didn't even know how to climb stairs and must have thought a ceiling fan was an incoming missile. After she got acclimated to our home she developed severe separation anxiety so bad that she chipped her front teeth trying to get out of her crate. She tore up our floor, walls & moldings. She was also very timid. Needless to say, we were worried. Then it was Sharon to our rescue. Within a 30 min, Sharon was able to express to us how our dog was feeling & how we could help her learn to be a dog. (It turns out that every one of our instincts were dead wrong!) After the 1st week of following Sharon's advice, our dog was much calmer and finally at ease. Now, w/ more coaching our Bella is a new dog. She's still a sweet girl, but she's started to play. It may seem silly to mention that she knows how to play, please understand that our Bella's spirit had been broken from her life before we found her. I would recommend Sharon to anyone who has a dog. She really can speak dog!!! I especially would recommend her if you have a rescue or a dog who is too timid or one with separation anxiety. Within a few short weeks that became a distant memory. Now we can enjoy our dog without worrying about leaving her at home. Sharon really is amazing!
Kendra and I contacted Sharon after rescuing Lucky, a male, Black Lab mix from a horrible situation at kill shelter in Fredericksburg, VA. Lucky suffered from severe separation anxiety, mild food agression, and generally, was 'shut down' not even acting like a dog. Additionally, we had to make sure Lucky wouldn't attack our 3 existing cats in a such a small area (our apartment). I contacted Sharon and she came out to our apartment and within the first session (because of her strategy) gave us the tools we needed to immediately help Lucky and ourselves along with our cats: Socks, Oreo and Shadow fully trusting Lucky and vice versa. We continue to implement the strategies on a daily basis (along with his 2 walks per day no matter what the weather) that have helped Lucky win his first 'Canine Good Citizen Award' and about to take his 'Novice Rally-o' title (agility and obedience.) He has become the dog he was always meant to be-leaving his abusive days long behind him. We've since moved into a larger home where we all live in harmony thanks to Sharon and her strategies. Thanks for everything, Sharon. You've really helped Lucky enjoy his forever home and we enjoy him immensely as part of our family.
Sharon truly has a gift. I have two non-trusting chihuahuas: a 10 yr old and a 6 mo old. I initially requested service for the puppy. Within 10 minutes, it was clear that my puppy was looking to my older dog, and the older one was teaching my puppy bad habits and needed training also. I thought it was too late for a 10 yr old who has always feared and barked at strangers, but he was quite responsive to Sharon. She was quite soothing for them both, which enhanced their ability to learn the tasks being taught. Within a short period of time, I was taught skills that allowed me to be in control and not controlled. I could turn off the barking and get them to walk with a loose leash. I was also impressed with the fact that canine communication, not treats, was the tool used for behavior modification. I felt like I was in a session with Cesar Milan!!!! Thanks Sharon!
Sharon is great! My puppy Yorkshire Terrier was having a very tough time with his separation anxiety. This was displayed by his constant pacing and barking for 3 hours straight (proof via a video tape). Sharon came in and we saw immediate improvement within the hour! I had been working so hard with his anxiety using prescribed meds from the vet and even natural substances (calming spray, wall plugs that emit a calming scent, a calming collar, a Thundershirt, etc.) purchased from my local pet store. These meds made him feel groggy or did not work at all. I feel better knowing I got to the root of the problem and I don't have to worry about buying expensive items (temporary fixes) to soothe his anxiety. I feel comfortable knowing I can leave my Yorkie and he won't be a complete basket case when I'm at work. Sharon is also great with potty training, breaking bad habits such as stealing & chewing inappropriate items, and enforcing basic commands and much more. Sharon is a first class trainer in every respect and I highly recommend her without any reservation.
Sharon came to us last Saturday and she was amazing!! I can not tell you just how wonderful she is you will just have to schedule and find out. Sharon is extremely knowledgable and professional. You can tell she loves and repects the company she works for and her staff. She upholds the reputation of Bark Busters and promotes them very well. Her compassion for dogs as individuals is expressed and her love for her talent shows. Our black lab has calmed down and now knows who is the leader.
